Today, the President of the Appeal Chamber Mrs. Albana Shtylla participated in the joint meeting that the Commissioner for the Enlargement of the European Union, Oliver Varhelyi and the head of the International Monitoring Operation Genoveva Ruiz Calavera held with the Presidents of the re-evaluation institutions, the judges of the Appeal Chamber and the representative commissioners of the Independent Qualification Commission. While giving their impressions and feedbacks after the meeting, Mrs. Calavera and Mr. Varhelyi conveyed a clear and supportive message for the mission of the representatives of these institutions.

“Important visit at the Vetting institutions of Albania with the Commissioner Varhelyi. The Vetting process is progressing along with the same professionalism and commitment to ensure that the justice reform will give the best for Albanian citizens. “The unjust attacks have to stop” said Ms. Calavera.

“It was a very prosperous meeting with members of the Vetting institutions. I appreciate the professionalism and the hard work. We strongly support the Vetting process, which is the key to Albania’s rapprochement with the EU. “The justice reform must continue,” said Mr. Varhelyi.

During her speech delivered at this meeting, on behalf of the three re-evaluation institutions, Mrs. Shtylla spoke about the achievements and issues faced by the Vetting process and the members of these institutions in fulfilling their constitutional duty. A special focus during this speech was given to the requests and concerns that the re-evaluation institutions have, for the accomplishment and settlement of which, there is needed a rapid engagement through the appropriate means and modalities, as well as a special and added attention, not only from the institutions themselves, but also by the international partners contributing to the Vetting process, and in particular by the IOM Monitoring Board. On behalf of the members of the re-evaluation institutions, Mrs. Shtylla enunciated and manifested the commitment that they will continue their work with professionalism and responsibility, in compliance with the Constitution and the law.

During this meeting, European Commissioner Varhelyi was committed to strongly support the re-evaluation institutions, as well as to address and solve their issues.
