The President of the Special Appeal Chamber, Mrs. Albana Shtylla welcomed today at the premises of the Chamber the head of the OSCE Presence in Tirana, His Excellency Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco, with whom she discussed regarding various challenges arising from the re-evaluation process of judges and prosecutors, as well as the possibilities for an effective cooperation between the institutions in addressing these challenges.
The President of the Chamber expressed her interest for an effective cooperation with the OSCE Office, with the aim on increasing administrative capacity, but as well a proper transmission into the public through media of the processes carried out within the two jurisdictions of the Appeal Chamber, the re-evaluation and disciplinary jurisdiction.
Mrs. Shtylla informed the Ambassador that the Appeal Chamber has already taken all measures and is ready to review the cases of the disciplinary jurisdiction that have increased in number, as well as how important it is for the Chamber to get to know the best practices that ECHR applies when dealing with these cases, as well practices from other European courts that handle case of this jurisdiction.
Ambassador Del Monaco, in addition to offering the support and special attention of the OSCE regarding the successful progress of the Vetting process, assured the President of the Chamber that the requests and concerns portrayed by her during this meeting, shall be rapidly addressed, after an assessment by OSCE mechanisms and structures focusing on issues of the justice system in Albania.
