After being informed by Judge Luan Daci himself, about being summoned as a defendant by the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime, the Appeal Chamber held today the Meeting of Judges which upon decision no. 14, dated 24.07.2020, pursuant to Article C, paragraph 3 of the Annex to the Constitution, Article 128, paragraph 3, item “b”, Article 179, paragraph 7, as well as Article 179/b, paragraphs 5 and 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, decided:
- Suspension from office of the judge of the Appeal Chamber, Mr. Luan Daci.
- For the purpose of exercising its normal activity, by respecting the independence and impartiality of the proceeding authorities, as well as the principle of presumption of innocence for Judge Luan Daci, the Appeal Chamber requests the proceeding authorities to proceed with the proceedings as fast as possible, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
This decision becomes effective immediately.( decision of the Meeting of Judges)
