Today, on 19.07.2024, at 09:00, the Appeal Chamber held the public hearing of case (JR) 29/2021, dated 28.05.2021, pertaining to the appeal of the Public Commissioner against decision no. 352, dated 01.03.2021 of the Independent Qualification Commission, related to the assessee Iliba Bezati.

Pursuant to the interim decision of the hearing dated 26.06.2024, the Public Commissioner determined the concrete IQC conclusions with regard to the items of the financial analysis that he challenges, as well as the financial effect they produce in the final assessment of this analysis.

During her objections, the assessee, Ms. Iliba Bezati stated that the conclusions of the Independent Qualification Commission are fair, supported on the applicable legislation, and requested the upholding of decision no. 352, dated 01.03.2021 of the Independent Qualification Commission.

With respect to some denunciations received by the Chamber, the parties held that they contain no circumstances or facts for further investigation. The trial panel decided to undertake no further investigations into the denunciations, as they fail to meet the requirements of Article 53 of Law 84/2016 “On the transitional re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”.

Once the parties declared that they had no further procedural requests, the trial panel decided to close the judicial investigation of the case and invited the parties to present the final conclusions.

Given that the Public Commissioner requested a reasonable time for the submission of the final conclusions, the trial panel decided to postpone the hearing to 25.07.2024, at 09:00.

The public hearing shall take place at the premises of the Appeal Chamber, at Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, no. 3, Tirana.
